Washington—Madrid-based Repsol may be only days away from completing its deepwater well off the coast of Cuba, Lee Hunt, the former head of the International Association of Drilling Contractors, said May 10. Hunt, speaking as part of a panel discussion on Cuba offshore drilling, said he was told last week by contacts who recently visited the Chinese-made drilling rig, the Scarabeo 9, that Repsol was about 10 days from reaching total depth.
