London—Shell posted April 26 an 11% rise in adjusted earnings for the first quarter of 2012, supported by firm Asian LNG prices and the continued ramp-up of output at its key gas projects outside of the US. Europe’s biggest oil company, which now pumps more gas than oil, saw its earnings boosted as increased production from its major gas-to-liquids and LNG projects benefitted from higher oil and gas prices.
