World energy demand to rise 35% from 2010-2035

London—World energy demand is expected to rise by more than a third from 2010 to 2035 as the world’s fastest growing Asian economies continue to demand increasing volumes of fuels, the International Energy Agency said on November 12. In its latest annual World Energy Outlook, the IEA said it sees global energy demand reaching 17.2 million mt of oil equivalent in 2035, up 35% from 12.7 million mtoe in 2010.
