CNOOC starts work onfirst floating LNG facility

Singapore—China National Offshore Oil Corpo-ration has begun construction of its first float-ing LNG receiving and storage facility in thenorthern city of Tianjin, CNOOC said March 1.The first phase is due to begin opera-tions in 2013 with a receiving capacity of 2.2million mt/year and an annual gas output of30 billion cubic meters. It will include float-ing storage, port facilities, gas pipelines andonshore storage tanks.
