foreign major expected to move into Israel, Cyprus

Jerusalem-A leading international energy company may be on its way into the Israeli and Cypriot offshore before the end of 2012 after the US' Noble Energy hinted last week there could be a major development on this front within the next six to nine months. Noble leads consortia with Israeli drilling partners that made the giant Leviathan gas field discovery offshore Israel and the large gas find in Cyprus' offshore block 12. Noble said it has an adviser to help it with the screening of possible strategic partners for its gas finds in the eastern Mediterranean. Analysts believe the biggest majors could be interested in joining forces with Noble and its Israeli partners.
