Domestic prices trend upward as export prices come under pressure

In contrast to many other developed markets, the Russian construction sector has demonstrated a relatively robust performance this year. Construction output increased by around 11% year-on-year in both the first and second quarters of 2012 (see chart), with the sector benefiting from a boost in state and private investments since the presidential elections in March 2012.
