Union urges government to save Coryton refinery

London—The UK’s largest trade union, Unite, has renewed a call on the UK government to step in with state aid to save insolvent Petroplus’ Coryton refinery from closure, claiming it is in the national interest to keep the plant running. Unite said June 1 it met with plant administrators and government officials late May 31 in a bid to avert the closure.
