Shell awards $400 million Brunei contract to Aker

Singapore—Norwegian oil field services company Aker Solutions has signed a five-year, Kroner 2.3 billion ($400 million) deal to manage Shell’s offshore construction and maintenance services in Brunei, the company said September 27. Aker will be responsible for the construction and maintenance work at Shell’s offshore Brunei assets, as well as transferring expertise to local businesses to enable them eventually to assume responsibility for the work.
