PetroChina starts new crude unit at Daqing

Singapore—Daqing Petrochemical, a subsidiary of state-owned PetroChina, has scrapped the 3 million mt/year No. 1 crude distillation unit at its refinery in Daqing this week, after bringing online a new 6 million mt/year No. 3 CDU late last week. This brings the total refining capacity of the plant to 9.5 million mt/year, from 6 million mt/ year previously, as the refinery has an existing 3.5 million mt/year No. 2 CDU that is still operational, a refinery source said October 18.
