TNK-BP’s JV in Brazil slips behind schedule

Moscow—Anglo-Russian TNK-BP and Brazilian partner HRT are behind schedule on their joint project in Brazil’s Solimoes Basin due to challenging logistics and insufficient infrastructure, TNK-BP senior vice president for exploration, Christopher Einchcomb, said September 27. “When we entered the project, there was a plan put forward that we could drill potentially 20 exploration wells a year. Within a year we have drilled nine wells...so we are behind the schedule,” Einchcomb told reporters at a TNK-BP media briefing.
