UK's?Melrose hikes Egyptian natural gas field output

London-The UK's Melrose Resources said July 9 it has started natural gas output from its South Khilala-2 development well in the southern section of the South Khilala field in Egypt, more than doubling total field output to 25,000 Mcf/d. The well has been tied back to the West Khilala field facilities and is currently flowing at a rate of 14,000 Mcf/d, the company said. A preliminary assessment of the new well data indicates that the field's total recoverable proved plus probable reserves should increase from 47 Bcf to 60 Bcf, Melrose said in an operating update.
