Albania launches privatization of oil producer Albpetrol

London—The Albanian government has finally launched the long-awaited privatization of its prize energy asset, oil producer Albpetrol. According to a copy of the tender document seen May 10 by Platts, Tirana will be offering all of the company in the privatization, with bids to be submitted no later than July 26 this year. Albania has had tentative plans to privatize Albpetrol for years, though no process was ever launched until now.
