India’s crude oil imports increase 11% year on year

Mumbai—India imported 14.42 million mt, or an average 3.52 million b/d, of crude oil in September, up 11% year on year and up 1% from August, according to provisional data from the Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell, a research arm of the country’s oil ministry. The country’s oil product exports, meanwhile, continued to show year-on-year declines, falling 3% from last September to 5.20 million mt, according to the PPAC data. Exports were, however, up 4.6% from August.
