UK output seen staging recovery after record slump

London—UK oil and gas production is fore-cast to recover gradually over the next fiveyears, following a major dip in 2011, asseveral recent large offshore projects comeon stream, according to a survey by industryassociation Oil & Gas UK.Production in 2012 is expected to riseslightly to 1.85 million b/d of oil equivalent from1.8 million boe/d in 2011 with output reachingsome 2 million boe/d in 2017, the Oil & GasUK survey published February 28 showed.The production uptick will be short-lived,however, and it is primarily the result ofinvestment in a small number of large fielddevelopments initiated over the last year, theindustry association said.
