Puguang gas production capacity hits 11 Bcm/year

Singapore—China’s state-run Sinopec September 6 said that total production capacity at the Puguang gas block, the largest in the country, has reached 11 billion cubic meters/ year (1.1 Bcf/day). Puguang is located northeast of the central Sichuan province. As of August 2, the block had produced 20.1 Bcm of gas since commercial production started, Sinopec said in a statement on its website. The field started trial production in 2009 and was officially commissioned in early 2010.
