Libya to export 8.8 million barrels of crude to Egypt

Cairo—Libya has agreed to export 1.2 million mt (8.8 million barrels) of crude to Egypt for domestic refining, Egypt’s petroleum minister Osama Kamal said September 12, but Cairo has denied it is in talks to import oil from Iran. In a ministry statement, Kamal said Egypt would have the right to sell the resulting refined products in its domestic market or export them. The purchase price for the crude and method of payment were currently being negotiated, the ministry said.
