Newly emerged Halcon to rev up its assets

Houston—The CEO of Halcon Resources, which burst onto the US upstream radar screen last month with a $1 billion deal, provided a glimpse May 8 of his vision for the company. Floyd Wilson said Halcon’s expertise in unconventional liquids-based plays would be showcased in an initial eight US fields where it continues to pick up acreage in selected core areas. “We have enough acreage to do what we plan to do in 2012 and 2013 in every single area we’re working,” Wilson told investors on Halcon’s first earnings call. “You’ll be hearing a lot more from us in the next several months.”
