Copenhagen—A public sector pay strike in Norway escalated May 30 as more workers joined a rare bout of industrial action, threatening to disrupt crude refineries and gas processing plants. As many as 50,000 workers are now said to be out on strike, doubling last week’s numbers, and include the operators of the boats carrying pilots which guide the tankers to and from the country’s refineries.
