Dragon Oil mulls takeover of Africa-focused Bowleven

London-Cash-rich Dragon Oil, which has been on the acquisition trail for a number of years, said February 17 it is looking at a pos- sible takeover of UK-listed Bowleven, best known for its light oil find offshore Cameroon. The UAE's Dragon, which to date has focused almost entirely on its Cheleken block offshore Turkmenistan, said in 2010 it want- ed to expand its business with an acquisition focused on Africa, Central Asia, the Middle East and "selectively" Southeast Asia. UK- and Ireland-listed Dragon said it has until March 16 to say whether it will make a takeover offer for Bowleven.
