Doha—India’s petroleum refining capacity will reach 232 million mt in 2012, a gain of more than 20% from 193 million mt in 2011, the country’s minister of petroleum and natural gas said December 5. “Our refinery sector has seen phenomenal growth in recent years,” S. Jaipal Reddy told the World Petroleum Congress in Doha. “This has enabled us to become an exporter of petroleum products to the tune of 59 million mt valued at $43 billion.”
