Mumbai—India will cut its imports of Iranian crude by 11% to 15.5 million mt in the current fiscal year, which began in April, from 17.44 million mt in the previous fiscal year, junior oil minister R.P.N. Singh told the country’s parliament on May 14. The announcement comes a week after the visit of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who acknowledged at the time that Indian refineries had been taking steps to reduce their intake of Iranian oil.
