India's April-November oil demand grows at modest 1.4%

Singapore-Refined product sales in India, a proxy for the country's oil demand, picked up towards the end of 2010 after a third-quarter slump that saw some rare year-on-year declines, but the average growth rate for the current fiscal year was settling around a rather modest 1.4%. Products consumption over April-November 2010, the first eight months of fiscal 2010- 2011, totaled 92.44 million mt (about 2.97 million b/d), according to preliminary data from the oil ministry, a 1.4% growth from the corresponding period of 2009-2010.
