UK’s Cuadrilla eyes eventual shale asset sale to major

London—Cuadrilla Resources hopes to sell its UK shale gas assets to a major oil and gas company once it has proven that it is possible to develop a working project, part-owner AJ Lucas said December 28. Cuadrilla has estimated gas in place of up to 200 Tcf (5.665 trillion cubic meters) in its UK acreage focused on the Bowland shale in Lancashire. Cuadrilla has a 75% share in the Bowland acreage, with AJ Lucas holding the other 25%. AJ Lucas, an Australian drilling company, also owns 42% of Cuadrilla.
