Singapore—UK-listed Fortune Oil said July 25 that China’s Ministry of Commerce has extended the exploration period for its onshore Liulin coalbed methane block in central eastern Shanxi province by two years to end March 2014. Fortune Oil has a production sharing contract for the block, partnering Dart Energy and state company China United Coalbed Methane. It was awarded the acreage in 2006.
