Moscow—KazMunaiGaz Exploration Produc-tion, the upstream arm of Kazakhstan’sstate-owned oil and gas company, hopes toproduce 5.8 million mt (115,000 b/d) thisyear at the Uzen field, where output wasdisrupted last year because of strike actionand power outages, a senior company officialsaid March 2.The target is some 15% higher than actualproduction at Uzen in 2011, and KazMun-aiGaz EP Deputy General Director for Produc-tion Abat Nurseitov said March 2 the companywas confident of reaching the goal.
