Pirates seize Greek-owned VLCC off Oman

Dubai-A fully laden crude oil tanker en route from the UAE's port of Fujairah to the Suez Canal was hijacked in the northern Arabian Sea off the coast of Oman February 9, the fourth VLCC to be hijacked by pirates since November 2008. The attack came just a day after an Italia Aframax crude tanker, the Savina Caylyn with an 80,000 mt cargo of Sudanese crude, was hijacked by pirates off India's west coast.
