Australia's Woodside finds more gas near Pluto field

Sydney-Woodside Petroleum has made a natural gas discovery at its Xeres-1 well offshore Western Australia, in an area where it is searching for resources to underpin the expansion of its Pluto LNG project, the company said May 23. The well, in Carnarvon Basin license WA-34-L, intersected about 51 meters of gross gas. Xeres-1 is about 12 km (7 miles) east southeast of the permit's Pluto-1 find.
