GDf suez seen selling UK field stakes to Eni

London-France's GDF Suez is to sell its 10.4% stakes in North Sea gas fields Elgin, Franklin and West Franklin to Italy's Eni as part of its plans to dispose of non-core assets. French daily Les Echos quoted unnamed sources September 8 as saying GDF Suez did not see its stakes in the fields as key because the company does not operate them. The fields are operated by Total and the deal would increase Eni's stakes in the fields from 21.8% to 32.2%. No company had comment on the report.
