Caltex Australia still mulling refineries’ fates

Sydney—Caltex Australia is still some time away from making a decision over the future of its two east coast oil refineries, a company spokesman said December 2. Caltex Australia Managing Director and CEO Julian Segal revealed in August that the company had begun a review of the role its 135,000 b/d refinery at Kurnell in Sydney and 109,000 b/d plant at Lytton in Brisbane would take in future supply to customers. He said at the time that the review was in its early stages and there was no specific deadline for completion.
