UK court orders arbitration in TNK-BP row

London-A UK court February 1 ordered BP and its Russian partners in oil producer TNK-BP to enter arbitration to settle their dispute over the legality of a multibillion dollar share swap and Arctic exploration deal BP signed with Russia's state-owned oil company Rosneft in January. The Russian shareholders in TNK-BP, a consortium called AAR, took legal action in London to block the BP-Rosneft deal, arguing it contravened an agreement stipulating that any deals BP enters into in Russia should first be offered to TNK-BP.
