Cape Town—Shell has completed the sale of its stakes in two onshore oil blocks to local companies in the oil-rich Niger Delta for $488 million, the company said December 1. Completing the deals is likely to come as a relief to Shell, as talks had broken down with some of the buyers balking at reports they would not become operators at the five blocks Shell was looking to divest.
