Tokyo-Japan imported 17.29 million kiloliters, or an average 3.88 million b/d, of crude oil in February, up 3.4% from a year ago, preliminary figures released March 31 by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed. Middle Eastern producers supplied 89.5% of Japan's total crude oil imports in Febru- ary, compared with 87.8% a year ago, amid a surge in imports from Saudi Arabia, Iran and Iraq, the data showed.
