Pemex offers round of mature fields in Gulf

Mexico City—State-owned Pemex December 16 offered six blocks of mature fields in the country’s central Gulf under contracts open to foreign and domestic operators. The proposal includes performance-based cash incentives. Pemex earlier this year awarded three contracts under the same terms for blocks in the southern state of Tabasco. The new round is to be held on and around Mexico’s central Gulf region, running from the north of Veracruz state and the south of Tamaulipas—in an area close to the Golden Lane region, where Mexico’s oil industry first began more than a century ago.
