Japan's JX to cut June crude throughput 11% on year

Tokyo-Japan's largest refiner JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to process 4.25 million kiloliters (26.73 million barrels or 891,055 b/d) of crude oil for the domestic market in June, down 11% from a year ago, a company official said May 31. The official attributed the drop in crude runs for the month to the shutdown of the company's 145,000 b/d Sendai refinery in northeastern Japan following the March 11 earthquake, coupled with sluggish domestic demand.
