New York-New York Mercantile Exchange October crude oil futures settled at $89.34/b September 7, up $3.32, on a rise in equities and as new storm developments posed a potential threat to US Gulf of Mexico production already shut in by Tropical Storm Lee. NYMEX October heating oil settled 6.54 cents higher at $3.0756/gal and October RBOB jumped 8.54 cents to settle at $2.9080/gal.
