Eni sells swiss, German pipe stakes for $1.15 billion

London-Italy's Eni said September 22 it has agreed to sell its stakes in the Swiss Transitgas and German TENP natural gas pipelines to Fluxys G, the main owner, for a total of some $1.15 billion. The deal forms part of Eni's moves to comply with a binding agreement last year with the European Commission to settle an EU antitrust probe into its dominance in transit pipelines into Italy. The EC launched an antitrust probe in 2007, charging Eni was restricting competitor access to the pipelines.
