JX Nippon to lift August crude oil runs by 1% on year

Tokyo—Japan’s largest refiner JX Nippon Oil &Energy plans to process 5.91 million kiloliters(37.17 million barrels or 1.2 million b/d) ofcrude for the domestic market in August, up 1%from a year ago, a company official said July 27. The rise in August crude runs is to makeup for a production shortfall in July after JXwas forced to shut a 60,000 b/d vacuumdistillation unit at its 400,000 b/d Mizushimarefinery due to a fire, the official said.
