Pertamina wants Sempra's LNG for Java

Jakarta-Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina is in talks to claim about 40% of US Sempra Energy's LNG allocation from Tangguh in eastern Papua to feed its 3 million mt/year joint venture FSRU (floating storage and receiving unit) in western Java, a Pertamina official said November 18. "We are ready to buy LNG from Tangguh, which was originally allocated to Sempra, based on a market price. We are even ready to buy the gas at prices three times higher compared with China's CNOOC," Pertamina vice president of communications, Mochamad Harun, said.
