Dollar rally helps push down NYMEX crude by $2.40

New York-New York Mercantile Exchange July oil crude futures settled down $2.40 at $97.70/b May 23, pushed lower by a rally in the US dollar as the euro dipped amid unfavorable economic news. NYMEX June heating oil settled 7.12 cents lower at $2.8471/gal. However, June RBOB pushed into positive territory by the close to settle at $2.9381/gal, up 23 points, after dropping to a session low of $2.8661/gal. On ICE, July Brent settled $2.29 lower at $110.10/b.
