Iran to issue ultimatum to foreign operators

Dubai-Iranian oil minister Masoud Mirkazemi said January 16 Tehran would soon issue an ultimatum to foreign companies that delay implementation of oil and gas contracts. Particularly affected is the giant South Pars gas field, being developed in 28 phases with a number of international companies involved. "Time is very important for development of South Pars," Mirkazemi said. "The projects were awarded to domestic contractors after some European companies delayed the development for seven to eight years," Mirkazemi said.
