BOEM makes appointments ahead of split

Washington-The US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement September 12 announced several key appointments to two of the three agencies to spring from the former Minerals Management Service in the aftermath of BP's Macondo disaster. The appointments included several new positions, including the head of a National Offshore Training Center, which will train all new rig inspectors, and the chief of the Accident Investigation Board, which will compile and publish safety data and investigate accidents.
