US gas storage pull of 100 Bcf matches expectations

Knoxville, Tennessee—US natural gas storage operators withdrew 100 Bcf to leave stocks at 3.629 Tcf for the week ended December 16, the Energy Information Administration said December 22. The net withdrawal was at the low end of most analyst expectations. In the same week a year ago, EIA reported 3.394 Tcf in storage. The surplus to last year grew from 154 Bcf to 235 Bcf, while the surplus to the five-year average widened from 347 Bcf to 387 Bcf.
