uS rig count rises by 38

Houston-The US rig count was 1,776 for the week ended April 1, up by 38 from the prior week, according to Baker Hughes. The latest count includes 1,749 land and 27 offshore, with 891 assigned to gas, 877 to oil and 8 to miscellaneous drilling. The rigs were drilling 531 vertical, 228 directional and 1,017 horizontal wells.
