Moscow—Spain’s Repsol and Russian oil company Alliance Oil formalized their $840 million Russian exploration and production joint venture December 20, as the Spanish company continues to grow its future production foothold outside Latin America. Under the deal, first announced in June, the two companies will work together to further develop producing Alliance assets and “serve as a vehicle to facilitate reserve growth through acquisition opportunities in oil and gas exploration and production in Russia.”
