Anadarko thinks big on Mozambique hike

Cape Town-Mozambique is on course to become eastern Africa's first LNG producer after the US' Anadarko Petroleum raised estimates of reserves at its complex of offshore fields. Anadarko said October 5 it is now planning a two-train LNG plant to monetize its vast natural gas resources offshore Mozambique after its latest appraisal well upped the company's reserve estimate to a colossal 10 Tcf. Anadarko, which previously said it its reserves offshore Mozambique were a minimum of 6 Tcf, said it was also optimistic its reserve estimates for Offshore Area 1 would increase beyond 10 Tcf with future exploration and appraisal activity.
