Calgary-Shell Canada will add 100,000 b/d of bitumen production in northern Alberta by end-June and is continuing talks with poten- tial partners for a grassroots LNG plant in British Columbia, a top company official said March 21. The new bitumen output will come from the Athabasca Oil Sands Project, with the commissioning on the Jackpine mine. AOSP, which consists of the 155,000 b/d Muskeg River mine and the 155,000 Scotford upgrad- er, is undergoing expansion in phases.
