Cosmo forecasts lower 2011-2012 exports, run rates

Tokyo-Japanese refiner Cosmo Oil has forecast lower middle distillate exports and a drop in its average refining rate for fiscal year 2011-2012 (April-March) due to an ongoing outage a its earthquake-hit 220,000 b/d Chiba refinery. The refiner, which May 9 announced its 2010-2011 financial results, expects its aver age refining rate in the current fiscal year to fall to 69.2% from 78.8% in 2010-2011 due to the Chiba refinery shutdown, a company official said.
