New York-New York Mercantile Exchange August crude futures settled 48 cents lower at $94.94/b July 1 in choppy trade as investors took profits ahead of a long holiday weekend.August crude faced early downside pressure from a rising US dollar and unfavorable manufacturing data from China. Data showed that China's Purchasing Managers Index fell to its lowest level since February 2009 at 50.9 in June from 52 in May, according to the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.
