Washington-The US Bureau of Land Management will rethink its tougher environmental oversight of onshore oil and natural gas drilling, Deputy Director Mike Pool said September 9. Pool told the House Natural Resource Committee's subcommittee on energy and minerals that the agency would initiate a rule-making and run its approach to "categorical exclusions"-designed to streamline approval of exploration and development on federal lands-through the full public notice and comment procedure.
