New York-The US Environmental Protection Agency may end up deeming more biodiesel renewable identification numbers (RINs) invalid following federal investigations into two companies that allegedly sold RINs without producing the appropriate volumes of biodiesel, a lawyer familiar with the matter said November 9. The companies-Maryland-based Clean Green Fuels and Texas-based Absolute Fuels-are accused of selling RINs without producing the commensurate biodiesel, following separate probes in Maryland and Texas.
